What does it do?
The AIT Power Optimiser's main feature is its ability to optimise and improve the source voltage for a whole site and therefore cut energy costs. This reduces energy bills and makes no perceptible difference to the efficient operation of electrical equipment.

Most electrical equipment manufactured for use in the UK and Europe is rated at 220 volts and designed to operate more efficiently at this voltage. However the UK single phase mains supply is set at 240 volts (actually it is 230 volts with an accepted tolerance of +10% to -6% giving a range of 216 volts to 253 volts depending on local conditions). By reducing the voltage of supply to 220 volts it is possible to reduce electrical consumption by 10-20% with the added benefit of reducing carbon emissions!

The AIT Power Optimiser improves the efficiency of electrical equipment and reduces consumption by:

Optimising the mains supply voltage at 220 volts
Suppressing harmonics
Helping to balance 3-phase voltages

In addition to reducing consumption and cutting energy costs AIT Power Optimiser also:

Lowers maintenance costs on motors, lighting and equipment.
Lowers operating temperatures of motors and lighting.
Prolongs the life of electrical components through reduced voltage and electrical stresses.
Protects against voltage transients and short-term power surges.
Lowers voltages and extends the life of electrical equipment especially light bulbs by between 1.5 and 3 times.

4 Step Evaluation Process

Step 1 - Please send us the following data (it will be kept confidential)

The highest hourly maximum demand in kW or kVA in the last year for each of the incoming supplies to your building (from this we size the unit required and its cost)
The total kWH consumption for the last 12 months on each incomer.
The estimated cost per kWA for the next 12 months including Climate Change Levy.

Send the data on any sites that you would like financially assessed, and we shall email you an accurate estimate of the benefit you will receive from an AIT Power Optimiser on a 'calculator page' like the one you will see if you click the link below.

Step 2 - If the estimated benefit is attractive we send you a voltage recorder.
Simply plug the recorder into a 3 pin plug point for a week to measure your voltage profile, and then return it for analysis. We will send you a graph of your voltage profile and confirm the % optimisation for each site plus an updated 'calculator page' to show the benefit you can expect from installing an AIT Power Optimiser

Step 3 –Site Survey
If you wish to proceed we can arrange for a contractor to survey your site and cost the installation and provide a quotation that shows the net saving of installing an AIT Power Optimiser to help in reducing carbon emissions.

An AIT Power Optimiser is installed by your preferred electrical contractor
