Increase the Efficiency of your Mains Supply
Most electrical equipment manufactured for use in the UK and Europe is rated at 220 volts and designed to operate more efficiently at this voltage. However the UK mains supply is set at 240 volts (actually it is 230 volts with an accepted tolerance of +10% to -6% giving a range of 216 volts to 253 volts depending on local conditions). By reducing the voltage of supply to 220 volts it is possible to reduce electrical consumption by 10-20%, making a significant energy saving!
